Lucy and Cat are standing together as Cat welcomes Lucy to the CENE People Group. Lucy is a white woman with glasses and a brown bob. Cat is a white woman with blonde hair. Both are smiling warmly.

Positive About Inclusion is delighted to announce that our Director, Lucy Malarkey has been invited to join Constructing Excellence North East‘s People Group.

The People Group, launched in 2021, brings together industry professionals who are passionate about creating a more inclusive and sustainable construction sector. It leads on key regional initiatives including the annual All In conference.

Chaired by Rebecca Storey, Sector Skills Facilitator for the North East Combined Authority, the group also works closely with education providers to ensure young people are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the construction industry.

I am extremely pleased to have been invited to join the People Group and look forward to working alongside the Chair and my fellow members to champion inclusivity across the sector to help tackle the region’s construction skills gap.

Lucy Malarky, Director

By joining the group, Lucy will be volunteering her time and expertise gained from many years working within the North East public sector and more recently as a Director of Positive About Inclusion and Managing Director of WISH (Women in Social Housing), a membership network for women working across every discipline of social housing, including construction.
