Positive About Inclusion was commissioned by the Wrekin Housing Group who were looking for an inspiring equality, diversity and inclusion session to engage with all of their staff at a live, virtual colleague conference. The purpose of the session, entitled ‘Inclusion is for Everyone’, was to impassion everyone in the organisation to understand that they all have a part to play in effectively embedding EDI.
About the Client
The Wrekin Housing Group is one of the largest social housing providers in the West Midlands, it is a socially minded organisation that prides itself on making a difference to people’s lives by providing over 13,000 homes for affordable rent and low cost home ownership across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Telford & Wrekin. The Group also provide care solutions ranging from domiciliary care for the elderly to supported housing and care for adults with learning difficulties.
Challenges and Objectives
Wrekin wanted a session aligned to their value of ‘Everyone Matters’, that colleagues from across the organisation could relate to, they asked for the session to include examples from the housing and care sector and for the presentation to cover practical tips on how everyone can actively play their part to embed an inclusive culture.

Solution
Positive About Inclusion provided a 30 minute presentation and then the opportunity for colleagues to ask questions. By making the presentation engaging and through the use of stories we impassioned staff to understand that inclusion is everyone’s business, everyone matters! A great range of questions were asked by the audience.
