Positive About Inclusion was commissioned by Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK to facilitate an Inclusive Culture workshop for their EDI Working Group. The group was very newly formed and in fact our workshop was to be the first time everyone had come together. The brief was to design and deliver an engaging workshop to raise awareness, build confidence and to help the group consider their role and prioritise the action they will be undertaking to support the organisation to embed and sustain an inclusive culture.
About the Client
Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK Ltd is a British subsidiary car manufacturing plant in Washington, Sunderland. It is owned and operated by the European division of Japanese car manufacturer Nissan. NMUK directly employ approximately 6,000 people.
Challenges and Objectives
Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK Ltd required a session that brought the group together, that created a safe space where participants could be authentic and that gently challenged the group to think about the starting point of this journey for the organisation and how the group could provide support to sustain and embed an inclusive culture. The workshop needed to be bespoke, to align with their vision and values and their EDI ambitions.
Solution
We designed and delivered an engaging 3 hour workshop, delivered in person at the Nissan Motor Manufacturing plant in Sunderland. The workshop included a range of activities to gently challenge participants to think about the role of an EDI working group, the current position and the inclusivity nirvana for the organisation and the practical steps they could take to progress to their Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK nirvana. The activities were supplemented with some learning about the subject matter and we shared real examples from our experience about what works well and learning from mistakes!
