Positive About Inclusion was delighted to be commissioned by Hays Travel to design and deliver an in-person workshop with the Hays L&D colleagues who provide support for apprentices across the UK.
Hays Travel are the UK’s largest independent travel agent with more than 45 years’ experience and more than 530 high street branches. They have an extensive apprenticeship programme in which all training is done in-house by their award-winning learning and development team.
The brief was to deliver an engaging session to increase awareness and understanding of ED&I and to elevate existing inclusive practices.
We delivered an in-person two and a half hour workshop which included activities specifically designed for the Hays Travel Apprenticeship Team including:
-
Inclusion Starts with Me – an energising activity to encourage personal reflection and ownership of inclusive behaviours
-
Elevating Inclusion – a scenario based activity to explore the impact of a range of real life workplace/apprenticeship situations and the approaches and behaviours that could be adopted to elevate inclusion
As the workshop formed part of the Apprentice Team Away Day and Christmas celebrations, we rounded off the session with a team based ED&I quiz, a fun way to introduce a competitive element which explored real life news stories that had an ED&I angle.
“This was a fantastic session that I’ve really taken a lot from especially in terms of suitable language and terminology which I’ll be integrating into my work.”
