In June 2023, we announced the launch of the Inclusion Forum North East, a networking opportunity for professionals from all sectors who share a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion. Yesterday, 12th July 2023, saw the inaugural event for the forum, with an in-person workshop held at the inspiring Ouseburn Farm in Newcastle.
Our Directors, Lucy and Karen were joined by nearly 30 enthusiastic professionals from a variety of disciplines (from HR to front-line service delivery), representing a diverse range of public and private sector organisations but who all share a personal and professional commitment to EDI.
Energy levels were high and the sessions was productive with feedback from attendees indicating that 100% said they found the event useful, informative and enjoyable, and all would be interested in attending future Inclusion Forum events.

This launch event was designed to bring people together to:
- get to know each other a little better and extend their network
- hear from Positive About Inclusion about the key issues organisations ask us to support them with alongside the advice and guidance we give
- provide feedback on how the Inclusion Forum North East could grow and the subjects it could explore that would be most beneficial
Hot topics Inclusion Forum members would like to explore at future events included data collection, neurodiversity, recruitment, attraction and retention. We will use this feedback to inform future Inclusion Forum North East events – watch this space!
