On Wednesday 27th October we are pleased to be working with our friends at the Chartered Institue of Housing as part of their Building Better Boards series of events to talk about diversity driving board success.
The Chartered Institute of Housing supports board members and governance professionals through their Building Better Boards membership offer. Since launching in July 2020 they have seen their board member network expand rapidly. It is now one of the biggest and fastest growing board communities in UK Housing. Boards and governance teams play a critical role and the Building Better Boards series of events aim to provide support and development opportunities.
The event on the 27th is called ‘Building Better Boards: Inclusive Recruitment and Succession Planning’ and we will be delivering a presentation alongside Warren Bradley, Director of Legal and Governance and Company Secretary from Golden Lane Housing in a session entitled ‘Diversity Driving Board Success’.
Warren will be sharing his experiences of recruiting to boards and discussing the importance of the board governance framework whilst we will be talking about how diversity, in its widest sense, makes for good board business.
Specifically what we will be covering includes:
- What diversity is and the value it can bring to a board in terms of descion-making
- Why diversity without inclusion won’t always stack up
- The reflection a board can make on how they present to attract the widest group of candidates
- How a board can actively embrace diversity if recruitment isn’t an option
You can hear from our Directors Lucy Malarkey (She/Her) and Karen Faulkner (she/her) at this event on Wednesday 27th October at 11am.
