Our Directors, Lucy and Karen were delighted to celebrate Positive About Inclusion’s 5th birthday recently. Approximately 60% of new businesses fail to reach this milestone so we are especially proud.
And 2025 has been another brilliant year with a number of highlights including welcoming 10 new clients to the Positive About Inclusion portfolio. Whilst most of these are social housing providers (unsurprising given our background), we have also worked with:
- the UK’s largest industry-led cluster for the automotive sector – the North East Automotive Alliance
- a prestigious independent day and boarding school – Ipswich School
- the North East headquartered largest independent travel agency in the UK – Hays Travel
Whilst we love working with new organisations and expanding our knowledge and experience in different sectors, we are also proud of the number of clients we work with that return to work with us further projects. During 2025, 50% of our revenue was generated through this repeat business and these long-term working relationships provide us with a great opportunity to understand more about an organisation’s unique context. Two of our lovely, long standing clients have worked with us every year since the business began in 2020 – Age UK Sunderland and Bernicia.
As a social enterprise, we deliver added value not just in the work that we do, but through a number of pro bono projects. One of the biggest ways Positive About Inclusion gives back is the Inclusion Forum North East – a networking opportunity for professionals who share a passion for equity, diversity and inclusion to share, collaborate and learn together. During 2025 we held four free Inclusion Forum North East events including our first ever online session. Each event facilitates a deep dive into an EDI-related subject, from dealing with gender imbalance in the workplace to making inclusive decisions and equality impact assessments.
The next five years will hopefully be as equally exciting as we continue to work with a range of organisations and make a positive difference. Happy 5th birthday to Positive About Inclusion!
