We were delighted to be asked to support Elavon Europe with their Europe-wide International Women’s Day celebrations taking place simultaneously in Newcastle, London, Dublin, Arklow and Warsaw.
About the Client
Elavon Europe (part of US Bank) is an electronic payments company and one of the top five merchant acquirers operating throughout Europe and the United States. Elavon Europe employs 4,000 people across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Spain and Norway, servicing over 1.3 million customers world-wide.
Challenges and Objectives
The primary objective from Elavon’s Newcastle team was to deliver an engaging and enjoyable reflection on the history of International Women’s Day, the current position in respect of gender equality and how to be an effective ally.
Solution
We designed and delivered a 45 minute in-person presentation which incorporated the opportunity for questions from the audience. This was delivered over two sessions to accommodate the operational/logistical requirements in continuing to deliver a high standard of service to customers whilst staff engaged with International Women’s Day activities.
Impact
The approach we adopted worked really well – holding two sessions allowed all Elavon colleagues to attend. The high level of engagement, with many questions being asked and experiences being shared after each session demonstrated the keen interest attendees had in the subject area and their willingness to demonstrate their ongoing commitment by being an effective ally.
“Thank you Karen! We had great conversations with a focus on the value of allies and how we can all support each other. The teams shared their own experiences and it was insightful to discuss the changes in attitudes towards women over the past 30 years, and to also recognise that although there has been fantastic progress, we still have a way to go. The feedback has been very positive, shining a light on such an important topic to empower both women and male allies.”
