Positive About Inclusion’s fifth Inclusion Forum North East event was held on 5th November in the most breath taking of venues – the stunning Newcastle Cathedral. Kindly sponsored by Castle Peak Group and focussing on inclusive recruitment, we extended a warm welcome to over 30 North East professionals who share a passion for equity, diversity and inclusion and who represented a diverse range of organisations in the public, private and charitable sectors.

Castle Peak Group’s Chief Executive Officer, James Carss extended a warm welcome to all attendees and explained the natural synergy between the subject of inclusive recruitment and the work of Castle Peak Group which was established in January 2024 in response to a gap in the market within the North East for a true executive search offering that was driven and built upon inclusivity.

Following a presentation from our Director, Lucy Malarkey sharing a summary of the challenges identified by Positive About Inclusion through the numerous inclusive recruitment reviews completed with employers across the country and in various industries, attendees were asked to work in small groups to explore a range of inclusive recruitment scenarios.

“A really great event with some very interesting discussion points! It was my pleasure to be both a sponsor and an attendee. Thank you to Lucy and Karen for another great Inclusion Forum North East!”

Karen Faulkner then facilitated a group discussion with all in attendance sharing their organisational approaches and some lessons learnt along the way. This proved to be an honest and authentic discussion which identified some amazing good practice already in place as well as some fascinating approaches for all forum members to consider.

“Thank you Karen and Lucy for a great event as always, lots of sharing and learning – a pleasure to take part and looking forward to the next one!”

Rachel Ford, Wellbeing and Belonging Manager, Square One Law

Following the event, attendees will be provided with an Inclusive Recruitment Tips resource summarising some of the examples of best practice shared. Please contact us if you would like to be added to the mailing list for the next Inclusion Forum North East event, being held on 21st January 2025.
