Positive About Inclusion was delighted to be commissioned to deliver an online induction programme for new Board Members for Chislehurst and Sidcup Housing Association (CSHA).
CSHA are a specialist housing association who have been providing sheltered homes to people aged 60 years and over in South East London since the mid-1970s.
Mindful that for many Board Members using their time productively is a priority, we designed a bespoke workshop for CSHA which was delivered during two 90 minute online sessions. Delivering the workshop in two sessions allowed time in between for attendees to reflect on the content and the sessions were delivered in the early evening to meet the requirements of busy Board members.
The first session focused on the responsibilities of a landlord, the role of a Board Member as a Non-Executive Director and the legal, regulatory and governance requirements of the Board of a housing association. A week later, in the second session, the focus turned to ED&I and the role of a Board to embed equity, embrace diversity and operate inclusively. Both sessions provided an opportunity for Board Members to reflect on their personal and professional approach, and their individual and collective responsibilities.
“Thank you both, I really enjoyed meeting you and our training sessions which I found both informative and enjoyable”.
Mary Loftus, Board Member, CSHA
