Our Impact Statement 2022

17 November 2022

Friends of Positive About Inclusion will know we are a proud social enterprise, a profit-for-purpose community interest company, and we are delighted to use this year’s Social Enterprise Day (November 17th) to launch our Impact Statement for 2022.

This year’s Impact Statement assesses the positive difference made by Positive About Inclusion as we continue to deliver on our mission statement through a range of training and consultancy services tailored to meet the needs of the various organisations with whom we work. In addition, our Directors Lucy Malarkey and Karen Faulkner have provided mentoring and volunteering activities, sharing our equality, diversity and inclusion expertise for the benefit of all.

This year, we were thrilled to be selected to take part in a Social Enterprise Incubator Programme, facilitated by the North East BIC on behalf of Gateshead Council. The programme provided an invaluable opportunity to network with fellow social enterprises across Gateshead which demonstrated the diverse range of activity in the social enterprise sector.

“Social enterprise is thriving in Gateshead and this year’s Incubator Programme provided a fantastic opportunity to learn from others in our sector and region.”

Lucy Malarkey, Director

That being said, like all businesses it’s challenging times for social entrepreneurs with the most recent Social Enterprise Barometer Report from Social Enterprise UK estimating that up to 4,000 social enterprises could possibly not survive the winter due to rising energy prices and increased operating costs. However social enterprises have proven to be resilient in challenging times in the past and now more than ever, is a brilliant time to support businesses that give something back.
