The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) commissioned Positive About Inclusion to deliver equity, diversity and inclusion training for their workforce of approximately 30 colleagues covering the practical application of EDI and how to move the learning into action.
Two workshops were requested with the second follow up session to take place several weeks after the first and to focus on the co-creation of an EDI action plan for the organisation. The first workshop was designed to ‘set the scene’, providing the foundational understanding of what EDI is and why it matters in the context of the social housing sector and beyond. This allowed participants to refresh their understanding, ensuring everyone was on the same page from the outset. We explored the key skills that everyone could adopt and the practical application of these skills in the work of SFHA.
The second workshop was held a number of weeks after the first to allow for a period of self-reflection. This workshop was outcome-focussed with an exploration of the key areas of activity discussed in the first session and the workshop concluded with the identification of key actions and responsibilities.
“As SFHA focuses on its people strategy and tools to support our members, we felt it necessary to enlist the support of Positive about Inclusion. As an organisation we undertook two sessions on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
The team at SFHA found the sessions really useful and feel more empowered to support our organisation, our members and stakeholders in the behaviours and values that underpin society. I can’t recommend these sessions highly enough!”
