Positive About Inclusion was commissioned by Medical Architecture to design and deliver equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) training to all colleagues working across the organisation’s two offices. The training was required to be delivered in person, over two sessions, one in London and one in Newcastle, with a brief to challenge participants to think about their individual and collective roles in sustaining an inclusive workplace for the benefit of colleagues and clients.
About the Client
Medical Architecture is a specialist in healthcare architecture. They mix strategic planning and evidence-based design to create environments that improve mental health and aid recovery, supporting healthier and happier communities.
Challenges and Objectives
The training was required to be relevant for all colleagues, to be engaging and gently challenging, providing an opportunity for the teams to refresh their EDI knowledge. Furthermore, the brief was to equip the teams with the confidence and fluency to embed inclusive behaviours in the workplace and beyond.
Solution
We designed and delivered two training sessions which included several activities that provided the opportunity for self-reflection, challenge and open discussion. The safe space we created enabled participants to share some of their lived experience which was beneficial for everyone present.
Impact
We brought energy, fun and practical tips to the session which meant that participants not only left being more equipped to be active allies but also more confident having enjoyed the sessions.
“A brilliant morning of whole studio training with Positive About Inclusion. Great presentation, fab interaction from the whole team and a lot of knowledge discussed and gained!”
