Gateshead College contacted Positive About Inclusion, asking for our support with their approach to equality impact assessments (EIAs). The College recognised that their existing EIA template needed a refresh, and they required some immediate support with five equality impact assessments that were due to accompany policies being presented at their Board.

Challenges and Objectives
Gateshead College is committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion considerations throughout the College and they already had in place a template utilised by colleagues for making equality assessments. However, the College recognised that this required a refresh and asked for our assistance with this alongside the completion of five equality impact assessments for key policies that had been recently reviewed and were due to be presented at their Board for approval.
Solution
Drawing upon our significant equality impact assessment experience, we reviewed and revised the Gateshead College EIA template and then completed EIAs for five key policies, including Safeguarding and Data Protection.

The College required a speedy turnaround for this piece of work and we delivered on time and to their huge satisfaction.
